発表要旨：
１．（小林 かおり氏）本研究では、日本語会話におけるあいづちを「話し手が発話権を行使している間に聞き手が送る短い表現（非言語行動を含む） 」（メイナード、1992：58）と定義し、?言語的あいづち（「うん」、「そう」等の音声）、?非言語的あいづち（頷き）、?言語的・非言語的あいづちの同時使用の3種に分類し、その生起位置との関連を調査する。データは、教師と学生という力関係に差があるペア10組による自然会話を用い、日本語会話におけるあいづちの先行研究では着目されることが少なかったターンとの関りを考慮し、ターン末とターン中に生じる3種のあいづちの生起頻度と割合を調べる。また、学生から教師、教師から学生へ送られるあいづちの分析を通して、力関係の上位者と下位者に対するあいづちの使用状況を比較し、その相違点を明らかにする。その上で、3種のあいづちの使用と会話参与者間の力関係との相関関係について考察する。

２．（鈴木 紅緒 氏）Interactional competence can be defined as the ability to meaning-making collaboratively with the interlocutor. To achieve mutual understanding, speakers deploy locally available resources for successful interaction, such as linguistic, identity and interactional resources (Young, 2019). In this competence model, fluidity, contextual dependence and a speaker’s adaptability are the keys for successful interaction. Using conversation analysis as an analytical method, this study examines the dynamic nature of bilingual interaction through multiple instances of Japanese resource uses in conversation tasks in English. I recruited ten university students at a Japanese university for the current study. They were all paired and instructed to converse in English for about 20 minutes. Their conversations were audio- and video-recorded for research purposes and transcribed using Jefferson’s (2004) transcription annotation system. I will mainly present three instances of how speakers use Japanese resources in English interaction. The findings show: 1) the participants use Japanese lexical items during the process of topic elaboration, 2) the participants achieve mutual understandings when one speaker attempts to repair number-related trouble sources, and 3) the use of L1 (first language) repertoires creates learning opportunities in interaction. Based on the findings, I will discuss the role of Japanese resource uses in in-class communicative tasks such as a discussion task.
